The Moldovans who work legally in Germany will be able to get a pension from this state when they reach retirement. The Moldovans will also be provided, if need be, with disability pensions for ordinary diseases, disability pensions and allowances for accidents at work or professional diseases and successor pensions.
This is provided in the agreement on social security signed by Moldova and the Federal Public of Germany. The document was ratified by Moldova’s Parliament in the October 6 sitting, IPN reports.
Under the agreement, each state will pay the part of the pension calculated proportionally to the insurance period on the own territory, in accordance with the national legislation in the field. The provisions of the agreement will create favorable conditions for the people who are abroad to return to Moldova and to benefit from pensions from both of the states.
About 17,000 Moldovans work in Germany officially at present. In Moldova, there are only 36 Germans who work officially.
The Republic of Moldova has signed similar agreements with another 11 states.
