The possibility of redirecting 2% of the income tax of working pensioners was discussed by representatives of the Pensioners Association with Prime Minister Ion Chicu. Another proposal formulated by members of the Association was to create a support fund for the elderly people, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Premier Chicu assured the Association’s representatives that the given proposal will be examined on the platform of the State Chancellery and will be then put up for public debates.

The Pensioners Association has a membership of over 700,000. About 150,000 pensioners of these have a job.
