The pensioners in the capital city will continue traveling free by buses and trolleybuses, mayor Ion Ceban noted. According to him, false reports appeared, saying that from this October or from next January these people will pay for trips by public transport, IPN reports.

“The information that these categories of persons from October 2022 or from January 2023 will pay for tickets is a crass lie invented in the laboratories of the government. I make such clarification as I have been asked by pensioners about those press reports saying that from January 1, 2023 they will pay for trips by public transport,” stated the mayor.

He reiterated that the pensioners will travel further free. “The City Hall does not aim to modify the payment procedure somehow. I don’t know what the government’s goal is and how they can influence this process but I repeat that these and other lies are aimed at denigrating me, the team and Chisinau City Hall,” said Ion Ceban.
