The companies, associations of dwellers and private house owners that will not have contracts for the collection of garbage will be penalized, as stipulated in an amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses approved by the Government. The fines for private individuals will very between 600 and 1,000 lei, while for legal entities – 2,000 to 4,000 lei. The repeated fine will be 1,400 lei to 2,000 lei for private individuals, and 5,000 to 6,000 lei for legal entities. The penalties also include community service. Minister of the Environment Gheorghe Salaru said there are over 3,500 households in the municipality of Chisinau that haven’t signed contracts for garbage collection.
