The drivers can be penalized if they place stickers with obscene messages or words on their motor vehicles. Such an act can be classed as immoral advertisement and is fined with up to 300 lei, press officer of the National Public Security Inspectorate Natalia Golovco stated for IPN.
The Agency’s editorial office received pictures with a vulgar word seen on a car. The National Public Security Inspectorate said it will examine the case and will identify the driver.
Natalia Golovco noted that anyone who witnesses such situations can inform the police and those who resort to immoral advertisements and use obscene language will be penalized.
Under the legislation, immoral advertisements are considered ads that violate the accepted norms of humanism and the moral norms by offense, defamatory comparisons and pictures concerning the race, nationality, professions, social category, age, sex, language, religious and political beliefs, as well as things that defame works of art that represent the national and universal cultural heritage or discredit state and religious symbols, the national currency of Moldova and other states.
