Pediatric Endocrinology Section of Mother and Child Institute reopened after renovation

The Pediatric Endocrinology Section of the Mother and Child Institute of Chisinau has been renovated. Over 2.5 million lei was allocated for carrying out repair works and outfitting the section with modern medical equipment and furniture. The money was provided by the Government of Romania within the project to renovate, rehabilitate and equip sections of the Mother and Child Institute, IPN reports.

The most difficult forms of obesity, diseases of the thyroid gland and growth and development disorders in puberty are treated at the Pediatric Endocrinology Section. “The Pediatric Endocrinology Section during 30 years has saved thousands of children with endocrine disorders. The renovation of this section will contribute to providing medical services of the highest quality,” said Minister of Health Stela Grigoras.

Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita spoke about the importance of efficient cooperation between the Governments of Romania and Moldova. He noted that the results of this cooperation are visible through the results of the project to renovate and outfit the Mother and Child Institute.

Annually, 700 children with diabetes receive treatment at the Pediatric Endocrinology Section of the Mother and Child Institute. According to the National Health Management Center, there were over 10,000 children with endocrine disorders in Moldova at the end of 2016.
