Two pedestrians were seriously hurt when they were struck by a car in Taraclia town on Monday. One of the men died in the hospital shortly afterward. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened at about 04.00 this morning. The driver of a Mazda lost control of the car, running it into the two men. The driver did not stop to help. The two men aged 31 and 36 were rushed to the Taraclia Emergency Hospital, where the youngest of them died as a result of his injuries. The same morning, a Toyota passed over a man lying on the roadway on the Donduseni – Taraclia – Pelinia road. The man died on the spot. An investigation is underway. Also on Monday, Chisinau police chief Silviu Musuc said the driver of the Mercedes that struck mortally a man on Calea Orheiului St in Chisinau on January 15 and left the place of the accident was identified. According to the police, the suspect is 36 and is from Chisinau.
