A man aged 53 was killed when he was struck by a car near Suruceni village of Ialoveni district last night.
Contacted by IPN for details, Ialoveni Police Inspectorate press officer Silvia Vetcu said the police established that a Volkswagen car driven by a 32-year-old man hit a man who was jaywalking. The pedestrian died on the spot. The driver wasn’t inebriated.
The same day, two women were hurt in Ungheni when a minibus entered a public transport station. General Police Inspectorate press officer Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that the two women were hospitalized. The minibus driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest for 30 days.
