PDM women want increased representation in party’s administration

The Women’s Organization of the Democratic Party (PDM) celebrated ten years of the foundation under the theme “Ten years of performance”. The organization’s objective is to make sure that the Democratic women in all the settlements of Moldova benefit from greater representation in the party’s administration and in the managerial bodies of the central and local public authorities, said the Organization’s head Valentina Buliga, quoted by IPN.

Valentina Buliga noted that the Organization pleads for the Moldovan women to enjoy protection, the same rights as the men and real support. “In every successful action of the PDM, in every step in the party’s development, there is our contribution too. We will continue to fight for a better position of the women on the labor market and in society,” she stated.

Attending the event, the chairman of the PDM Marian Lupum said the women represent a significant part of the Democratic Party. “The Organization’s activity in the recent past was not only effective, but also visible. The women in the PDM are appreciated and this is a reason for delight. You achieved this objective because you struggled with professionalism, honor, correctness and balance,” he stated.

The event was attended by over 1,600 Democratic women from all over the country. The Women’s Organization of the PDM was founded on June 5, 2004 with the aim of ensuring the equitable and effective participation of women in the political, social, economic and cultural life. It now has about 27,000 members.
