The Democratic Party withdraws its censure motion, tabled three weeks ago. MP Andrian Candu has said, during a press briefing, that the decision is taken at a meeting of the group in order to "to unblock Parliament's activity", IPN reports.

According to the Democrat MP, this does not mean that the PDM gives up on this government’s dissolution, which it deems to be "the weakest one since the independence of the Republic of Moldova". "We will address the issue of the dissolution of Maia Sandu Government in a more complex manner and we will come up, in the nearest time, with comprehensive proposals in the economic and social areas," stated Andrian Candu.

The parliamentarian recalled that the censure motion was submitted three weeks ago, invoking two problems: the economic and the social areas. The Democrats noted the lack of performance, efficiency and results for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. They also mentioned that many successful projects were cancelled, suspended, delayed, while new projects have not been put forward.

According to Andrian Candu, apart from these failures, the Maia Sandu Government, and namely the Prime Minister, "shows cowardice", as for three weeks Maia Sandu has not come to Parliament with a report in response to this censure motion. In the absence of this report, the motion cannot be examined in Parliament, and as a result there is a deadlock, because plenary sessions cannot be organized.

In other news, Andrian Candu maintains that the PDM will fully support any censure motion to dissolve the Sandu Government. He has also noted that, by Sandu Government’s initiative of assuming the responsibility for amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, "an intervention in the judiciary, a serious abuse of service and power and even the usurpation of power in the state" is admitted.
