The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) will soon put forward a draft Parliament decision that will condemn the actions to corrupt MPs and party switching. “Such practices no longer have a place in the political life of the Republic of Moldova. We will call on all the MPs to support this draft decision,” said the president of the PDM Pavel Filip.

IPN quoted Pavel Filip as saying in a press briefing that “offers started to be made in a large number” to MPs, mayors, councilors. “They are offered several hundred thousands to join Candu and slightly more to join the Shor group… Our mayors, councilors and MPs are daily terrorized and offered large sums of money to leave the party and join one of these two organizations,” he stated.

Pavel Filip also said that if they until now spoke about offers of hundreds of thousands, these days the despair rose to figures with six zeroes. “Those who go on pilgrimage through the country and visit our local teams are, by the way, Vladimir Cebotari and Marina Tauber, with each of them representing by a master, and they receive instructions to increase the pace,” noted the politician.

He also said that exactly one year ago, the PDM entered its most difficult period and its team went through hard moments, witnessing attempts to outlaw it, to start unfounded criminal cases against it and others.

Pavel Filip said that meanwhile, he and his party colleagues realized the mistakes made in the past, owing to which the party suffered, but now they firmly condemn this past of the PDM. “In the period, the party had been subject to unprecedented attacks not only by the then power, but also by those who until recently managed the party,” he stated.

According to the politician, desperate attempts had been made to take over the PDM. “Pressure was exerted directly on me before and after I was offered colleagues’ trust and the mandate of president. We clearly undertook to restore the good name of the Democratic Party and to build a healthy party. The Democratic Party is not only Vlad Plahotniuc. The Democratic Party is the thousands of devoted people of our teams from all over the country,” noted the president of the PDM.
