PDM to consult people to see how to act in presidential election

The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) has launched a campaign titled “A Different Policy” within which it will consult party members and supporters to see how the party should act in the presidential election and after it. The program was presented by the leader of the PDM Pavel Filip in a news conference, IPN reports.

According to the politician, during the campaign the MPs and members of the PDM will go to local organizations to discuss with members and supporters so that these say what they want for Moldova and its localities. The PDM wants “a different policy” so that those who support the PDM and those who form part of its team are informed about the situation in the party and the country. “We want the decisions inside the party to be taken not as in most of the political organizations of Moldova – by the party’s leadership – but together with the members of the party,” stated Pavel Filip.

He noted he realized that the party took a correct decision when it decided not to run for office of Present given the current developments on the political arena and the promises that are made and that have no connection with the President’s duties. There are actually only two candidates who are involved in a duel. “We aim to be sincere with our voters as Moldovan politics lacks namely sincerity,” stated the Democratic leader.

He also said that the current coalition is very weak and will exist until there is a majority of votes and until they will feel that the members of the PDM are useful in the governmental team and can keep a balance and can contribute in moments of crisis.

As to the reported presence of the former leader of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc in Turkey, Pavel Filip said he didn’t know this and does not remember when he spoke with this over the phone the last time.
