PDM suspects Vlad Filat of employing schemes before local elections
The president of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said the fuss around Moldtelecom and Banca de Economii represents nothing but schemes employed by the leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat. He stated yet that this is only a supposition of the PDM’s Executive Bureau that came together for a meting on Saturday, February 26, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Marian Lupu, there are pursued goals related to the local elections. The PLDM, which is not satisfied with the results of the talks and the agreement on the constitution of the Alliance for European Integration, is trying to exert pressure on the Democratic Party so as to obtain the renegotiation of a part of the accord.
“We reached such a conclusion because we consider that these problems should be discussed within the Government’s presidium, the working meetings, the Alliance’s Council, and the meetings of the Alliance, as stipulated in the agreement on the constitution of the Alliance,” Marian Lupu said.
The Democrat leader said Moldtelecom’s decision to increase the tariffs was unanimously accepted by the phone carrier’s Board, including the representative of the PLDM.
“If we speak about a technical solution, it should be considered within the Alliance on the one hand and the Opposition on the other hand. It should not be a discussion between the parliamentary Opposition and a component of the ruling coalition as this technical solution will look like a political agreement,” Marian Lupu said.
He also said that until recently the Democratic Party did not know about the meetings of Vlad Filat and Vladimir Voronin.
