The Democratic Party took cognizance of the negotiations held by the Bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists on June 4. The PDM’s position as regards the invitation to discussions issued to the Socialists remained unchanged – the ball is now in the court of the PSRM, the spokesman for the Democratic Party Vitalie Gamurari stated for IPN.
“I cannot make great comments here as it is not within my remit. It is the position of the Bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists, which held two rounds of negotiations. We took notice and the Democratic Party’s position remained unchanged,” stated Vitalie Gamurari.
The party’s spokesman also said the invitation addressed to the PSRM last weekend remains in force. “We haven’t yet received a response. As far as we understood from the speeches of the Socialists, this week they plan to convene the party’s National Council that will take a decision,” stated Vitalie Gamurari.
“We are waiting as we took the first step. We took the same step towards the Bloc ACUM. The ball is now in the court of the Party of Socialists and we expect them to present their position.”
The PSRM on June 5 went to the discussions launched by the Bloc ACUM. After two rounds of negotiations, the Socialists announced they cannot concede the post of Parliament Speaker. For its part, the Bloc ACUM noted it is ready to vote in the Socialists’ candidate for Speaker, but only after the package of anti-oligarchic laws is adopted.
