PDM presents first ten candidates

The team of the Democratic Party of Moldova is composed of highly-qualified specialists who showed they are able to cope with the most difficult problems faced by society, the party's chairman Marian Lupu said in a news conference where there were presented the top ten candidates of the PDM for the November 28 legislative elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, who quit his post for the period of the election campaign, comes second in the list. He has been in politics for ten years. He likes playing judo and studying the history of his family. Valeriu Lazar's wife is a journalist, while his eldest son – an engineering student in Torino. The other son goes to the kindergarten. According to press reports, the Lazar Family owns a house of 2 million lei. The third candidate Adrian Candu admitted that he is the godson of businessman Vlad Plahotniuc and stressed that is proud of this. He studied in Romania. When he returned to Chisinau, he worked as a consultant with the parliamentary commission for foreign policy. Now is is the director general of the Moldova Association of Business People. He is married to a Czech woman and has a child. Pavel Filip, director general of SA Tutun-CTC, comes fourth in the list. He said his name and life are connected with two companies – Bucuria and Tutun-CTC. He stated he worked hard, but manged to make the two companies prosperous. Pavel Filip is married and has two children, who are both students. The PDM's president of honor Dumitru Diacov is the fifth candidate. He said his only hobby is gathering strawberries as this is a seasonal occupation that does not require much time. He devotes the rest of the time to the party. The next candidates include Doctor of Technical Science Marcel Raducan, suspended Minister of Construction and Regional Development and former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry (1997-1998), jurist Raisa Apolschii, lawyer with the Chisinau-based law office Avo-Grup, Igor Corman, who headed the commission for foreign policy and European integration in the current legislature, Vasile Botnari, director of the Chisinau Airport Service, and the only woman in the Filat Government Valentina Buliga, suspended Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family.
