PDM obtains majority of seats on Calarasi district council
The Democratic Party (PDM) now holds a majority of seats on the Calarasi district council. After the June 5 local elections, the party ranked second, but the situation changed after five councilors representing other parties joined the PDM, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the head of the local organization of the PDM Vasile Timofti.
“Four members of the Calarasi local organization of the Republican Party of Moldova and a member of the Christian Democratic People’s Party joined the PDM,” said Vasile Timofti.
“The Democratic Party is a competent organization that assumes responsibility for the local administration. Five members of the Calarasi district council - Ilie Rau, Mihail Tambur, Vasile Rata, Victor Railean, and Veaceslav Coscodan - decided to contribute to the more efficient management of the district as part of the PDM.”
As a result of the June 5 local elections, the PLDM won nine seats on the Calarasi district council, the PDM – seven seats, the PCRM – seven seats, the PL – five seats, the Republican Party – four seats, while the Christian Democratic People’s Party – one seat.
