PDM makes new requests to Government

The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) requested the Government to analyze the implementation of the one-stop shop concept and to reduce the number of agencies and the taxes paid by citizens when they apply for documents.

The PDM’s spokesman Vitalie Gamurari, after the traditional meeting held at the party’s head office each Tuesday, said the executive was requested to inspect the social welfare sector and make sure that the social benefits reach the people who need them the most, IPN reports.

Vitalie Gamurari said a number of responsible institutions will cooperate and will carry out an assessment to identify frauds in the area of social welfare, if there are such, and to determine how equitably the applications for social benefits are examined. The goal is to increase the number of those who benefit from assistance from the state and who really need this support.

The PDM also proposed instituting a mechanism for efficiently monitoring the public functionaries by installing devices through which the people could assess the quality of the services provided by these. The party considers this will enable functionaries to reassess their activity and to perform this in the interests of the people.

In the PDM’s meeting, it was also suggested introducing new practices. Each Monday, the MPs would be accompanied on their field trips by ministers or secretaries of state.
