PDM is Transnistrian voters’ favorite

The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) is a favorite among the voters in the Transnistrian region, but more than a half of the population is not decided who to vote for and only 3% said they are interested in the parliamentary elections that will take place in Moldova, shows the sociological study “The early parliamentary elections: views on both banks of the Nistru” that was conducted by the Association of Demographers and Sociologists. According to the poll, 18% of the Transnistrians questioned would vote for the Democratic Party of Moldova, 16% for the Communists Party, 5% for the Humanist Party, 2% for the United Moldova Party, while 1% for the Liberal Party. The other 58% could not make a choice. Only 3% of the Transnistrians expressed interest in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova. Marian Lupu is trusted by 46.5% of the respondent, the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin by 42.4%, Valeriu Pasat by 3/2%, Vlad Filat by 2.6%, Serafim Urecheanu by 1.9%, Zinaida Greceanyi by 1.7%, while Vladimir Turcan by 0.8%. The poll was carried out between November 11 and 20 and covered a sample of 1,593 respondents from 68 settlements located on the right bank of the Nistru and 618 respondents from 15 settlements situated on the left bank. The margin of sampling error is +2.6%, while for the Transnistrian region +3.0%.
