PDM is only party that managed to improve its electoral score in two elections, Lupu

So far the Democratic Party is the only political organization that managed to improve its electoral score compared with the local elections of 2011 and the parliamentary elections of 2014, the Democratic Party’s leader Marian Lupu told a news conference.

According to Marian Lupu, the results achieved by the Democrats in the June 14 elections show that his colleagues received a positive answer from all the voters of the country for what they did in settlements, for the support they provided there daily. The Democratic Party has 258 district and municipal councilors, 147 mayors elected by the first round of voting and almost 260 candidates who will compete in the second round, IPN reports.

“It is a success that makes us more responsible. Tomorrow we will start to travel through the country to offer the Democratic candidates support for the second round. I consider the result is very good. We won the elections in 11 districts of the country, as against only two districts in 2011. Our results increased almost six times,” stated the Democratic leader.

Marian Lupu said a solid majority will start to be formed soon in the district and local councils so as to do more good deeds. “This opportunity to form pro-European coalitions is a reason for rejoicing also because the pro-European parties were mandated to form majorities in 24 districts. This shows that Moldova’s map is not red,” he stated.

The politician also said that the Democrats understood the message of the Chisinau residents and will work to regain their confidence. It is yet good that the inhabitants of Chisinau chose to keep the pro-European course of Chisinau.
