The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) on December 24 will hold its eighth congress that is expected to bring together over 1,200 people, IPN reports.

The congress will take place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau, starting at 10am. The agenda includes the election of a new chairman of the party.

It should be noted that Marian Lupu announced his decision to vacate the post of chairman of the PDM at the December 10 meeting of the party’s political council. He said he will not apply for a new term in the December 24 congress. Lupu continues to hold the post, until a new party leader is chosen.
