The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) can launch its election campaign on May 26. The Central Election Commission (CEC) registered the party’s list of candidates for MP in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 and its electoral symbol, IPN reports.
The PDM submitted the documents to the CEC on May 20. Then, the Democratic leader stated that the PDM didn’t hurry to file the documents for registration as they aimed to first finish all the internal consultations. He expressed his conviction that this time the PDM will conduct a “different” election campaign as they consider a “different” campaign in Moldova, not based on politicians’ words and statements, is possible.
The party’s list of candidates for MP does not include the president of honor of the PDM Dumitru Diacov. Pavel Filip said Dumitru Diacov decided himself to withdraw and his decision is respected by his party mates.
Apart from the PDM, the CEC so far registered five parties and two electoral blocs as election contenders. These are the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists, “Building Europe at Home” Party, the Common Action Civic Congress Party, the Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi”, the Party of Action and Solidarity, the Shor Party and the Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda” (“Hope”).
