PDM and PL exchange retorts
Before the July 2 meeting of the Parliament, the leader of the Liberal faction Corina Fusu read a statement in which the Liberal Party (PL) reiterates the demands formulated in the June 24 presidential decree to institute the Soviet Occupation Day on June 28, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The Russian State Duma's action represents interference in Moldova's internal affairs and a hindrance to the development of the bilateral relations,” Corina Fusu said, referring to the declaration issued by the Russian deputies, who condemned the decree signed by Moldova's Acting President Mihai Ghimpu.
The president of honor of the Democratic Party (PDM) Dumitru Diacov replied that ruler Stephan the Great whom we commemorate today pursued a balanced policy in the relations with all the countries, allowing his daughter to marry a Russian prince. “Our colleague from the PL does nothing but include Stephan the Great in polemics,” Dumitru Diacov stressed.
After the MPs exchanged retorts, Mihai Ghimpu said he hopes Stephan the Great did not hear what Dumitru Diacov said.
