PDM accuses Premier of populism

The Democratic Party (PDM) accuses Prime Minister Vlad Filat of populism when calling the ministers who were included in electoral lists back to Cabinet, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Premier suggests that only he is responsible for governance in this country, while the rest of the parties think only about the election campaign,” the Democrats says in a statement. The statement says the PDM decided to put its ministers on the list of candidates out of respect for the Moldovan people as any party must field its best members. The PDM suggested that the Premier should name the deputy ministers to the vacated seats. The Democrats also say that the Premier was not requested to appoint PDM members to the free posts of minister. Thus, the party cannot be accused of pursuing its own goals. “The fact that the Prime Minister and other political leaders insist on continuing holding executive positions shows they want to use the state resources in the election campaign,” the statement reads.
