The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) regrets the absurd situation witnessed at its head office in Chisinau on January 13, which prevented the representatives of the mass media from covering the events on the spot, IPN reports.

The party’s reaction comes after a number of journalists present in the party’s head office were locked by the guard inside the conference hall for several minutes while members of the party were leaving the office after the meeting of the PDM’s Political Bureau.

“We apologize to the journalists for this incident that no way shows our attitude to the representatives of the media. We publicly detach ourselves from the behavior of the guard working at the PDM’s head office in Chisinau, which we consider uncivilized and inappropriate,” the party says in a press release.

“We will take all the necessary measures to avoid the repeat of such a situation in the future and reassert our readiness to continue to cooperate with the representatives of the mass media in conditions of maximum professionalism.”
