A new competition of promises was staged during a new round of electoral debates at ProTV channel. The representative of the party led by ex-Premier Ion Chicu promised they will implement infrastructure projects and will raise salaries. The representative of AUR assured that when they enter Parliament, they will ensure Moldova’s union with Romania, while the candidate for MP of the Ecologist Green Party said they will invest in waste recycling and building of wastewater treatment stations, IPN reports.
The representative of the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova said that the party of former Premier Ion Chicu will continue the infrastructure and fiscal reform projects launched when Ion Chicu served as minister of finance and then as Prime Minister. Chicu’s mates defended their party leader, saying he didn’t break the law when he organized the wedding of his son during the pandemic.
“Our priorities include the economic development of the country, the union of the people as society is divided and stopping of the population’s exodus. We also plan to implement infrastructure projects that will bring more investors to the country. The wedding subject is no longer topical. Ion Chicu noted that the rules imposed by the Commission for Exceptional Situations weren’t violated at that wedding party,” candidate for MP Ala Leca stated in the electoral debates “You vote for you on ProTV”.
The leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) said the union of the two Romanians states is the party’s main desideratum. Vlad Biletski denied the idea that those who joined AUR before the elections switched parties. “Before the elections, we combined the forces of the unionists. Party switching is when you betray you case and turn into Communist from Democrat or into pro-European from Socialist. Our party includes patriots and unions. No one sold the seat of MP for the oligarchic interests,” stated Vlad Biletski.
The candidate noted the priorities of AUR include the immediate withdrawal of the Russian troops from the Republic of Moldova, improvement of the living standards up to the level of the standards in Romania by higher allocations, pensions, scholarships and bringing of a prosecutor from Europe for jailing all thieves.
The representative of the Ecologist Green Party said that together with the social and economic problems, the environmental problems should be a priority for the authorities. When it enters Parliament, the Ecologist Green Party will invest in building sewage treatment plants.
“Sums of millions are spent on roads and everyone dreams of highways, but we consider it is very important to also invest in waste recycling plants. The roads do not help when we have the water polluted. We plead for the annulment of mandatory military service. It is a legal form of exploiting humans by the state, but this is no longer modern,” said the Ecologist Green Party’s candidate for MP Oleg Brega.
