The candidate of the Party of Communists (PCRM) for the mayoralty of Chisinau Vasili Chirtoca promises to build a waste processing and sorting plant near the capital city. He made such a promise in a meeting with the personnel of the municipal cleanup company “Autosalubritate”, IPN reports.
“We will also restore the lakes and parks in Chisinau. The first step will be to ban the constructions in green areas,” said Vasili Chirtoca, quoted in a communique issued by his team.
Answering the questions of those attending the meeting concerning the measures that will be taken to stop the exodus of young people and specialists from Chisinau and from Moldova in general, Vasili Chirtoca shared the idea of founding a large mortgage company in Chisinau. “Unlike the existent home loans, which are nothing but a trap, we intend to provide long-term loans repayable in up to 25 years, at an interest rate of at most 7% a year, to the residents of Chisinau, first of all the young people. We will launch the project in cooperation with out partners, with whom we have cooperated efficiently for a long time,” he stated.
Vasili Chirtoca also met with students and professors of the Moldova Free International University of Moldova. He said that one of the key points of the city management program worked out by him and his supporters is to create the conditions needed for the young people to remain at home.
Later, the PCRM’s candidate had a meeting with employees of the Chisinau building materials complex “Macon”. Speaking about his management program, Vasili Chirtoca underlined the opportunity of adopting a complex approach. “If we repair by one street in one-two years, we risk never rehabilitating all the streets,” he said, noting he will divide all the problems into two categories – those that need capital investment and those that can be solved faster, without incurring large costs.
The local general elections will take place on June 14.
