PCRM with largest expenditure in campaign so far
The Communists Party (PCRM) has spent the largest sum of money during the first two weeks of election campaign. According to the financial report submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC), so far the party used 2 031 640.37 lei for advertisements, room rental, transport and other campaign-related costs, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Democratic Party has spent 1 831 690.16 lei during two weeks. The Liberal Party, the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party, the Christian-Democratic People's Party and the Humanist Party of Moldova spent between 100 000 and 300 000 lei, while the other parties less. The European Action Movement and the Republican Party reported zero expenses.
Eleven of the 12 parties registered as election contenders during the first two weeks have presented financial reports. The Moldova's Patriots Party did not lodge a report as they did not open a bank account and did not spend money.
The parties are allowed to spend 21 644 445 lei in the election campaign, while the independent candidates – 2 166 444 lei.
