Sympathizers of the Communist Party (PCRM) announced they will stage uninterrupted protests in front of the head office of the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau until the EaP Summit held in Vilnius ends. The anti-summit demonstrators put up tents and intend to protest all night, IPN reports.
Communist MP Grigore Petrenko said the protest is aimed against the wrongdoings committed in Moldova. “We are protesting against the supporting of bandits, liars and corrupt rulers. We protest against the territorial policy of the President of Romania, who said that after Moldova joins the EU, Romania’s goal will be to unify the country,” he stated.
“Instead of complying with the norms of European democracy, the European officials chose to go together with Plahotniuc, Filat, Zubco and others against the people. We plead for the Customs Union,” said MP Alexandr Petkov.
His faction colleague Eduard Musuc said there are no chances for Moldova to join the EU, even in 20 years. “The protest is aimed not only against the government, but also against the European envoys as they call the disorder of the last four years success story,” said the lawmaker.
The Communist sympathizers expressed their indignation at the actions of the Moldovan lawmakers. According to them, the Association Agreement must be made public so that the people know what happens after Vilnius. The protesters said the EU represents a danger for Moldova.
