The Communist parliamentary group submitted a new censure motion against the Government headed by Iurie Leanca for the reason that the negotiations on the Association Agreement with the EU, which was initialed at the Vilnius EaP Summit, were secretized. This motion was put forward less than a month of the submission of another two motions, IPN reports.
The leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin said in Parliament that a secret agreement was initialed in Vilnius. “It is a serious crime against the people, which will have disastrous consequences. The agreement hasn’t been yet made public in the official language. The Leanca Government exceeded is constitutional powers,” he stated.
Vladimir Voronin added that the Constitution was violated as it provides that the right to information of public interest cannot be limited. “Given the secrecy around this treaty and the series of violations committed by Leanca and his Cabinet, we can say that the people’s rights to administration were violated. The initialing of the agreement frustrated the prospects of reunifying the country. We no longer support this Government,” he said.
Head of Parliament Igor Corman asked the legislature’s Law Division to pronounce on the accuracy of the motion from structural viewpoint and called a meeting of the Standing Bureau to decide when it will be debated. Under the Parliament’s regulations, the censure motion is examined within a week.
