Communist president Vladimir Voronin gave a news conference on July 15 in the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau. When asked by Info-Prim Neo reporter how much the PCRM as an electoral competitor pays for the hall rent, Voronin answered he had no idea, but underlined the payments are made from the party's electoral fund. “The PCRM, as other non-governmental institutions, pays 2,000 lei an hour to rent the room. The price is smaller for state institutions,” the Palace's manager Tudor Nerean stated after the conference, being asked by the president. The PCRM is an exemplary client, because it pays for the hall before the conference. “However, we have problems with the prosecutor's office, with the foreign ministry, which do not pay in time for the services,” Nerean said. When asked if he is going to return the money since the conference last 15 minutes less, the manager of the Palace of the Republic said the last conference of Voronin last 1 h 15 min, so they are now square.
