If rerun parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, the PCRM would win 26% of the vote, the PDM – 14.1%, the PLDM – 12.9%, while the PL – 8.2%. However, Marian Lupu is the most credible politician as 51% of the respondents trust him the most. Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin come next with 45% and, respectively, 39%, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Public Opinion Barometer (POB) commissioned by the Public Policy Institute, the three top leaders are followed by the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca with 33% and the former Premier Zinaida Greceanyi with 31%. Asked to say what political personality they trust the most, without being given the list of politicians, 20% of the respondents said they trust no one, 20% said they trust Marian Lupu, 17% - Vladimir Voronin, 14% Vlad Filat, while 4% Dorin Chirtoaca. Moldova's Acting President and Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu is trusted by only 1% of those polled. The survey also shows that the people started to trust the state institutions more. The Government of Moldova is trusted by 44% of the respondents, as against 31% in the July poll, the Parliament – by 41%, as opposed to 30% in July, the mass media – by 61%, the NGOs – by 34%, the trade unions – by 29%, while the political parties – by 29%. Asked to express their opinions about a possible referendum on the modification of the procedure for electing the head of state, 69.6% of those surveyed said the President must be elected directly by the people, while 14.6% said the President must be elected by the Parliament. At the same time, 3.4% said they would not take part in the referendum, while 12.4% refused to give an answer. The survey was carried out by the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS-INC Chisinau between November 16-30. It covered a sample of 1,118 persons from 75 settlements, except the Transnistrian region. It has a margin of error of about 3%.
