PCRM has a politically unaffiliated candidate for presidency, Vladimir Voronin
The Communist Party (PCRM) has another candidate for the post of President of Moldova, the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin said in a program on Pro TV Chisinau channel, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vladimir Voronin stated that it is a politically unaffiliated person, as the Communists suggested earlier, but did not reveal the name. “I cannot tell the name of the candidate. We will discuss the candidate after we agree that he must be independent,” he said.
He stressed that the election of an independent candidate is the best solution. “The candidate should be independent from Parliament, from the parliamentary groups. He cannot be outside politics as he must work with the political class. But when put forward, the candidate must not be from among lawmakers,” said Vladimir Voronin.
Asked if Zinaida Greceanyi is no more the PCRM’s candidate for the presidency, Vladimir Voronin said she remains a good candidate with a rich experience. “Has been there a better candidate for Prime Minister than Zinaida Greceanyi in the 20 years of independence?” asked the Communist leader.
Earlier, Vladimir Voronin repeatedly said that Zinaida Greceanyi is the only PCRM’s candidate for President of Moldova and the party will not change its stance easily.
