The Political Executive of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (PCRM) obliges the Communist parliamentary group not to vote for the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. In a press statement, the party says that this accord is an artificial one, does not represent the country’s interests and does not reflect Moldova’s development problems. It contains only bans, restrictions and responsibilities, IPN reports.

The Political Executive of the Central Committee also obliges the party bodies to stage mass information events to familiarize the people with all the noxious effects that will appear after the signing and implementation of the Association Agreement.

The statement says that the accord violates the Constitution as the country’s sovereignty is reduced to the level of a colony. The implementation of the accord’s provisions will lead to the ruining of the national producers and agricultural associations and the destruction of the remaining social institutions.

According to the Communisis, Moldova will obtain practically nothing, but will lose the connection with its historical partners, in breach of the recommendations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The Communists also put several rhetorical questions, such as “Can the head of a Government with a popularity rating of 20%, consisting mainly of ministers recognized by the Constitutional Court as corrupt, sign this accord?” and “Why was the matter concerning the country’s territorial integrity ignored at a time when the place of the Transnistrian region in this accord is not defined?”

The statement also says that the oligarchic and corrupt Government, by signing this accord, will contribute to definitively destroying the Moldovan economy, to social degradation and loss of the country’s development prospects.
