PCRM enjoys greatest trust among voters, poll

The PCRM is the party that enjoys the greatest trust among the voters, shows a poll carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova. 36% of those polled said they have confidence in the Communists. The PLDM is trusted by 27% of the Moldovans, the PDM by 22%, while the PL by 15%. The Liberal reformers enjoy the trust of 8% of the respondents. The margin of sampling error is +/– 2.8%, IPN reports.

When asked which of the political leaders they trust, without being offered possible answers, 27.7% of those questioned named the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin, 12.9% the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat, while 9.6% the deputy chairman of the PL, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. The chairman of the PDM Marian Lupu is trusted by 8.7% of the respondents. The list is continued by Iurie Leanca, Igor Corman, Igor Dodon, Mihai Ghimpu, Nicolae Timofti and others.

If legislative elections were held next Sunday, 73% of the Moldovans would go to the polls. 39.3% of them would vote for the PCRM, 16.9% for the PLDM, 10.2% for the PDM, while 7.1% for the PL. The Party of Socialists would gain 4.9% of the poll, while the Liberal reformers only 2.6% and would not pass the election threshold.

41% of the respondents consider that the best solution for the components of the government coalition is for every party to take part in the parliamentary elections separately. 26% of those questioned believe that they should form a bloc for the elections.
