The Communist Party (PCRM) is preparing for the next ordinary congress that will take place on June 9. It is the first congress in the last ten years that the PCRM convenes while in the opposition, Info-Prim Neo reports. PCRM chairman Vladimir Voronin told the journalists on Wednesday that the party makes effort to organize the congress in the best way possible. The agenda will contain the examination of reports presented by the party’s leadership and the reelection of the management bodies. Over 600 persons are expected to take part in the congress - 450 delegates and the others invitees. The discussion with the press took place near the bust of the Russian classical writer Alexandr Pushkin, where representatives of the PCRM laid flowers on the occasion of the celebration of 213 years of the poet’s birth. Asked what Pushkin’s work he likes best, Voronin said his tales that focus on different themes that remained topical. In this connection, he stated that the Alliance for European Integration will remain only with the trough, as the old man in the tale “Golden Fish”. Asked to provide details about the preparations for the referendum to repeal the Law on Guaranteeing of Equality, Vladimir Voronin said that Pushkin’s anniversary is today more important that the plebiscite.
