PCRM announces large-scale protests against AEI
The Communist Party will stage continuous protests until the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) resigns, the party’s leader Vladimir Voronin announced Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
By parliamentary way, the Communists will seek the resignation of the Central Election Commission, the Constitutional Court, the Acting President, the Government and the ruling alliance. The PCRM will also organize civil disobedience events all over the country. The Communists are ready to support the protests against the government mounted by other political parties.
As to the AEI’s intention to organize a constitutional referendum, Vladimir Voronin said the PCRM will have a very harsh reaction. “This referendum will fail as the one held in 2010,” said the Communist leader.
Vladimir Voronin reiterated that the ruling alliance usurped the power and said that all the people and the political parties must rise up to defend the Constitution and the freedom.
He made it clear that he may apply for a new tenure as chairman of the PCRM. Asked to comment on Mark Tkachuk’s statement that he sees Vladimir Voronin as the head of the PCRM in continuation, the Communist leader said, smiling, that what his team says is always true.
