PCRM administration warns members about formation of coalitions at local level

The administration of the Party of Communists (PCRM) warned the colleagues elected as local and district councilors to be attentive when they form coalitions, the party’s leader Vladimir Voronin said after the July 4 meeting of the Central Committee of the PCRM, which came together to analyze the results of the local elections, IPN reports.

The politician said the emphasis in the meeting was put not on statistics, but on the created local power and how the local councilors will work and what will happen to the villages and district centers of the country. “This is what worries us now. We are not interested in holding power at national level,” stated Vladimir Voronin.

The Communist leader added that he reached a sad conclusion that the billion of euros stolen by the ruling parties influenced also the election campaign, which was corrupt. The voters were cheated and a lot of other violations were committed.

The politician also said that they cannot speak now about general coalitions at local level and everything depends on the number of seats won in one district or another. “The agreement with the Liberal-Democrats and the Democrats is not reliable. These can any time change the tone. I told our colleagues to be cautious who they form alliances with. The situation at central level is different,” stated Vladimir Voronin, without saying what namely is different.

At the start of this week, Vladimir Voronin sent an open letter to all the parliamentary groups, calling on them to have discussions so as to overcome the crisis faced by Moldova.
