PCRM accuses university rectors of campaigning for PLDM

The Communists Party accuses the administrations of the higher education establishments of Moldova of using administrative resources to campaign for the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM), Info-Prim Neo reports. In a new conference, Communist candidate for MP Grigore Petrenko said the administrations of the universities did not offer a hall to the PCRM to hold its meetings with students or hampered the students from attending the meetings. Grigore Petrenko also said that in the evening of November 4, he wanted to have a meeting with students at the dormitory of the Academy of Economy Studies (ASEM) situated at 2/2 Florilor St, but he was banned access. The Academy's pro-rector came in 30 minutes and ordered that the students stay in their rooms and close the doors. “This case shows that the present administration is afraid of the vote of the students and of the meetings of the students and the Opposition. They fear that the students will make the decision they want, not that imposed by the ASEM rector, who is a member of the PLDM,” Grigore Petrenko said. The Communist candidate stressed that all these incidents were documented by the police and the PCRM is waiting for a relevant decision.
