PCRM accuses BCC of favoring pro-government broadcasters
The Communists Party of Moldova (PCRM) accused the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) of intention to refuse renewing the license of the radio station Ploaia de Argint and offering it to pro-government broadcasters, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PCRM calls on the embassies, representative offices of international organizations working in Chisinau, European and international institutions to take action and warn the Moldovan authorities about the gravity of the possible consequences of the abovementioned acts, the party says in a communique.
The PCRM stresses that the given decisions follow similar actions taken by the BCC like the refusal to approve the new program of the radio station Antena C and halting of the broadcasting of the news bulletin TOP News, of the multimedia news agency Omega, on the TV channel Ren TV.
“The BCC's actions confirm once again that the new government of Moldova aim to intimidate the inconvenient media outlets and deprive the people of alternative sources of information,” the communique says.
