PCR: Voronin betrayed voters and formed alliance with PLDM and PDM

Members of the Communist Reformist Party (PCR) said Vladimir Voronin betrayed their voters when the Party of Communists formed a tacit alliance with the PLDM and PDM. They announced they will stage protests until Parliament is dissolved and early elections are called.

In a news conference at IPN on February 20, the party’s leader Ruslan Popa said the investing of the PLDM-PDM minority government with the help of the Communists represents betrayal of the voters of the PCRM, who hoped that the party will fight the illegalities committed in the country.

“They thought that the Party of Communists will fight against the bandits Plahotniuc and Filat and will not form an alliance with them. Regretfully, we can ascertain that the PCRM became a component part of the alliance. There was installed the ‘government of oligarchs’, of the three Vlads,” said the leader of the PCR.

Speaking about the depreciation of the leu, Ruslan Popa noted the situation was caused by the illegalities committed in the banking sector, which led to an economic crisis.

Ruslan Popa said they will soon hold a meeting of the PCR’s Central Committee to discuss the staging of mass protests. “We will call on the people to come to the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau and will not leave that place until Parliament is not dissolved. The country can no longer tolerate the ruling bandits,” he stated, saying the protests will be mounted round-the-clock.

In the November 30, 2014 elections, the PCR polled 4.92% of the vote.
