PCCOCS refused to confiscate computers of “Platon group”, Maia Sandu

It was the decision of the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) not to confiscate the computers that were found during searches in a house within a case concerning illegal following of judges. The prosecutors didn’t even check if the discovered computers were somehow related to the investigated offense, President Maia Sandu stated after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council (SSC), IPN reports.

“A detail that became known in today’s meeting of SSC: it was the decision of PCCOCS not to confiscate the computers found during investigations. The prosecutors of PCCOCS decided to seize only two cellphones. Also, PCCOCS decided that the computers found at the crime scene should not be sequestrated as they weren’t related to the investigation object, but they didn’t even examine the content of those computers,” stated Maia Sandu.

According to her, an assessment of each prosecutor’s office is needed as there are many proofs of their inefficiency. There are also suspicions about the work of particular prosecutors and the fact that the prosecutors refused to confiscate the computers that belonged to the Platon grouping is a conclusive example.

JurnalTV presented evidence according to which Veaceslav Platon and Ilan Shor intended to discredit President Maia Sandu by launching a fake video in which President Sandu is shown to receive an envelope from the fugitive MP. According to the channel, the deepfake was extracted from one of the computers found by prosecutors at the place of searches, which weren’t yet confiscated.
