Payments to Termocom can be spread over a year
Termocom SA announced that during the current heating season the consumers could pay the heating bills in installments over a year as during the previous heating season.
Termocom’s commercial director Mihai Arusoi said that during the next two weeks, until the heating seasons begins, the indebted consumers will have to agree with the administrators of the housing sector on the rescheduling of the debts. Otherwise, they will be sued and cut off from the heating system.
Arusoi says that there are about 8,000 consumers with debts of over 1,000 lei, as against 57,000 in April 2006. Half of them committed themselves to repaying the debts in installments. According to the heat-supplier Termocom, the Chisinau residents paid 75-80% of the debts for the previous heating season.
Though the insolvent Termocom SA is not yet administered by the local authorities, but by the Creditors’ Council, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca asked the company’s administration to connect all the apartment blocks, even the indebted ones, to the heating system.
According to the mayor, the connection of the blocks and the setting up of a debt repayment timetable should be made in parallel so as the consumers that paid the debts are not affected. The ill-willed apartment owners that do not pay the heating bills will be sued by the heat supplier.
The heating season is set to start on October 15. Initially, there will be connected the nurseries, schools, healthcare institutions and the apartment blocks that cleared the heating debts.
