The rehabilitated victims of the political repression of 1917-1990 as from January 1, 2020 will get the monthly allowance of 500 lei either they receive pensions or social benefits or not. A law providing this was published in the Official Gazette on December 27, IPN reports.

The National Housie of Social Insurance said the legislation earlier provided that only the persons who receive pensions or social benefits within the social insurance system of Moldova are entitled to such an allowance. Those who didn’t get such an allowance until now can file an application to the local social insurance house as of January 2, 2020.

On December 1, 2019, the public social insurance system included 7,343 rehabilitated victims of the political repression of 1917-1990.
