Pavel Voicu: Case of Țuțu could be transmitted to Romania for being tried there

Minister of the Interior Pavel Voicu said the Moldovan authorities determined the whereabouts of the former Democratic MP Constantin Țuțu, who is investigated for murder, unjust enrichment and influence peddling. He is in the capital of Romania, Bucharest. The case of Constantin Țuțu could be transmitted to the neighboring country for being tried there, IPN reports.

The minister said he was notified by two informed citizens that former Democratic MP Constantin Țuțu is in Bucharest. Țuțu holds Romanian nationality too, but even if the Moldovan authorities initiate the extradition procedure, Romania will not extradite him as it does not extradite its citizens. “The Prosecutor’s Office will take the necessary measures. It cooperates with the law enforcement agencies of Romania and is to take a decision. The case could be transmitted to Romania so that Țuțu is convicted there. This is possible in cases of offenses that hold interest,” Pavel Voicu stated in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel.

According to him, Constantin Țuțu was involved in cases of smuggling, of drugs. “I then served as police commissioner in Botanica district and investigated cases of robbery against persons who smuggled cigarettes. He was classed as a suspect and disappeared. We also didn’t forget the case when he was somehow arrested by the police and I don’t know why this case was dropped if a woman was found in the trunk of his car,” stated Pavel Voicu, noting they will gradually complement the case of Constantin Țuțu with offenses he committed in Moldova.

The minister said the whereabouts of the leader of the Shor Party Ilan Shor are also known. He is now in Israel.
