Pavel Filip: We will all feel positive changes next year

Prime Minister Pavel Filip, at the beginning of the December 28 meeting of the Cabinet, transmitted a congratulatory message to the people of Moldova on the occasion of the winter holidays, IPN reports. “I’m confident that 2017 will be better than 2016, when we had to cope with a crisis. It will be a year when the Moldovans will feel positive changes,” stated the Premier.

Pavel Filip instructed the Ministry of the Interior to show increased vigilance in the period so as to ensure the people’s safety. He also requested the Border Police and the Customs Service to take the necessary measures to ease traffic on the border.

In another development, the Prime Minister expressed his bewilderment at President Igor Dodon’s legislative initiative to annul the law by which the emergency loan provided to the banks that faced problem was transformed into public debt. He reiterated that the given law is constitutional and the Constitutional Court confirmed this after examining two relevant challenges, one of which was submitted by the MPs of the Socialist Party (which was headed by Igor Dodon, e.n.). The Premier urged the people not to believe the populist politicians. He noted that the conversion of the emergency loan into state debt allowed to sign the agreement with the IMF and to unlock the external financing for Moldova.
