Pavel Filip: Poland remains one of active supporters of Moldova’s European course

Poland remains one of the most active supporters of the European course of the Republic of Moldova, but also a real investor, including financial one, that provides money for different projects and reforms within the Assistance for Development Program, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in a meeting with the Marshal of the Senate of Poland Stanisław Karczewski, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service.

Marshal Stanisław Karczewski said Poland will continue to support Moldova in its European integration efforts and is ready to share the experience accumulated in this regard. The official thanked the Moldovan authorities for the support provided to the Polish diaspora in the Republic of Moldova. Currently, there are about 20,000 Polish ethnics in Moldova.

Pavel Filip and Stanislaw Karczewski pleaded for intensifying the commercial, scientific, cultural and tourism exchanges and underlined the importance of interhuman relations. They noted the four honorific consulates of Moldova in Poland play a special role in ensuring proper communication between the states.

Poland ranks eighth among Moldova’s main commercial partners, being a leader among the EU countries by the volume of imports of Moldovan wine. Pavel Filip invited the Polish businesspeople to invest in Moldova. Currently, the biggest Polish investor is a sugar factory, with investments of over US$ 15 million.
