Pavel Filip: Moldova will keep up pace of implementing EU conditions

The Republic of Moldova is determined to keep up the pace of implementing the conditions agreed with the EU and undertakes to accelerate the given process even if 2018 is an electoral year, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in a meeting with Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip spoke about the justice sector reform, the implementation of the new law on money laundering and adoption of the law on NGOs. The Premier said these examples confirm the authorities’ determination to continue on the path of European integration. He reiterated Moldova’s commitment to achieve the objectives set at the Eastern Partnership Summit of last November.

The officials also discussed the measures that Moldova intends to take to put into practice the reform agenda, including by fulfilling the conditions for obtaining macro-financial assistance from the EU.

Johannes Hahn approved of the made progress and of the Moldovan Government’s determination to continue to do reforms at a steady pace, noting that the EU supports the implementation of the Association Agreement signed with Moldova.
