Prime Minister Pavel Filip considers that the Republic of Moldova regained the foreign partners’ confidence. He formulated such a conclusion on the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
The Premier reached such a conclusion after the meetings with high-ranking U.S. and European officials that he recently had in New York, including Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogheini, European Council President Donald Tusk, and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the ordinary session of the UN General Assembly.
“I remained rather satisfied as a result of this visit because the messages I received, either from Missis Mogherini or Mister Tusk, or Missis Nuland, were positive and more than positive. I was congratulated on the results achieved by the current government in this short period of time. They confessed that at the start of this year they didn’t believe that we will succeed and were more on expectative positions. They congratulated us and told us to continue doing reforms in Moldova at the same pace or to act at least at the same speed,” stated Pavel Filip.
He noted that there is a big difference between the meetings with representatives of the foreign partners held recently and those of the beginning of this year, saying the messages are now more positive. “They are now much warmer and open and their messages are to continue at the same speed and, more important, to maintain stability here, in the Republic of Moldova. The same message was transmitted by the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, who visited us,” said the Premier.
