In the ceremony to inaugurate the renovated building of the Chisinau Appeals Court, he underlined the importance of the event for all the Moldovan people, especially for specialists from the field, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“The modernization of this building would have been impossible without the support of our EU partners and I want to thank them for the financial assistance and, particularly, for the support provided in the form of expertise and consultancy in reforming the justice sector and doing reforms in Moldova,” stated Pavel Filip.

He noted that owing to the renovation, the judges will now enjoy better working conditions. Swifter examination of cases and transparency in holding court hearings will be ensured. The Government took a number of measures to formulate and approve laws in accordance with the European standards. These will offer the tools needed to make justice equitable.

“I call on you to develop further as it is very important to restore our people’s confidence in justice. I wish success to everyone. We must implement the justice sector reform till the end as this is the foundation for the economic development of the Republic of Moldova,” stated the Premier.

The renovated building of the Chisinau Appeals Court is 7,200 square meters in area and includes 13 courtrooms. The renovation works cost 82 million lei, which was allocated from the state budget and by development partners.
