In the next local elections that will be held on October 20, the Democratic Party, in the worst case, will come in second place throughout the country. The statement belongs to the chairman of the Democratic Party, Pavel Filip. According to him, the withdrawal of the immunity of the Democratic MP Vladimir Cebotari is a political payback and was made to tarnish the PDM image, IPN reports.
"It's the fight for the electorate. It started with the case on usurpation, an attempt to outlaw the party. Next came the attack on Vladimir Cebotari. It is strange that this happened today, after he was registered as a candidate, "said Pavel Filip on " Fourth Power "/”Puterea a patra” show on N4 TV.
At the same time, the PDM leader says that he does not think that based on the information presented by the Prosecutor’s Office Vladimir Cebotari must be detained or arrested. "Therefore, I am absolutely certain that he will have the opportunity to participate in the election campaign. If they resorted to the lifting of immunity, it means that he stands a chance as a candidate”, argues the politician.
The politician is of the opinion that the current Government did not come up with a government program, but with the idea of retaliation. "Let’s fire everyone; the secretaries of state, all those who worked in the PDM government are bad and have to step aside, even if they have no one to replace them with," says the Democrat.
Democratic MP Vladimir Cebotari was stripped of parliamentary immunity. A draft decision in this regard was voted yesterday, September 19, at the plenary of the Parliament, based on the request of the General Prosecutor's Office.
